There are three family-oriented events happening this month at Mount Baker Community Club: a high-energy solo variety act, a family movie, and a kids’ rock concert.
Saturday, March 11th, 10:30-11:30 am: The once-per-month Pied Piper family entertainment series continues with Roberto the Magnificent. (Casper Babypants is sold out on March 4th, sorry.) Robert Stuverud (aka Roberto) is from WA state and performs a high-energy solo act which features stunts, juggling, 5′ and 10′ unicycle riding, pogo sticks, interspersed with humor. Although Roberto lives in WA state, his show has travelled to 45 of the 50 states. In an Oct. 2015 interview with WRAL 5 news at the North Carolina State Fair, Roberto said he started unicycling when he was 11 years old, and has performed ever since, so encourages children to learn new skills. “If there’s something you really want to do, you gotta keep trying, you can’t give up. You gotta practice.” Only $3 per person to attend.
Friday, March 17th, 6:30-9:30 pm: Family Movie Night features “Angry Birds” on this Friday night, with feathered characters from the popular game who”get ruffled” in this 3D animation. Also only $3 per person. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the movie begins at 7:00 pm. Popcorn and other treats will be available for purchase.
Saturday, March 18th , 10:30-11:30 am: Last in the winter series of kids’ concerts at MBCC, The Not-Its! band will be performing a live, family-friendly rock concert in the Mount Baker Community Clubhouse. Wonder what the band sounds like? Go to this page and listen to them. Tickets can be bought here.
